Media, Military, I'm Loving it!

According to recently conducted survey, Indians have the highest regard, anywhere in the world, for the military and, hold your breath, media and news organisations. And this, from the world’s most engaged citizens, the broad elite, or as we would call in India, the decision-makers. About 88% of India’s elite have a very positive view of the military; no surprises. But a thumping 51% have an equally positive attitude to media, making it the first in the world.

Global market research leader Ipsos’ annual survey in over 20 countries and through 20,000 interviews, measuring the attitude of ‘engaged consumer citizens’ to everything, has thrown up quite a few contrarian findings across the world, and sent many international commentators into a bit of a tizzy. However, the stereotypical view that developing countries focus on material improvement, while the developed world cares more about social and environmental issues, is wide of the mark. According to this survey it is developing countries that call for increased regulation, with environmental protection at the top of their agenda.
